Making meaning from the Holocaust is not straightforward, indeed it inevitably requires considerable contemplation of difficult questions about our fragile world and the nature of humanity.

This session explores with highly stimulating creative and literary sources how teachers might aid and support their students reflect on the significance of the Holocaust and the struggle to be found in making meaning. It will also assist teachers in inviting students to reflect on their own personal growth from the experience of learning about the Holocaust and to consider in what ways it may have shaped or developed their world view, understanding of the human condition, beliefs, principles and civic values.

This session is particularly applicable for teachers of History, RE and Citizenship, year group tutors and those with responsibility for SMSC and safeguarding.
