Verulam School

Verulam is a state secondary school for boys St Alban’s, Hertfordshire.  We have approximately 1150 students (including a mixed sixth form)

At Verulam we believe that all pupils should strive to fulfil both their academic and personal potential. We recognise that by setting ambitious academic targets and encouraging all pupils to become fully involved in the extra-curricular life of the school we can all achieve excellence.

We are specialists in boys’ education and understand that only making our expectations clear and setting high targets will help pupils fulfil their potential. We also recognise that boys succeed when they engage in the sports, social or other extra-curricular activities provided by the school. Most importantly these activities help them to become confident, articulate young men who can succeed in higher education, employment and their personal lives.

Our work with UCL began three years ago, with a number of staff attending the training days.  As a result we instigated a Curriculum Enrichment Day focused entirely on the Holocaust for our year 9 boys and an in depth study for our KS5 students.
