Coopers is a mixed comprehensive in Chislehurst within the London Borough of Bromley. We are part of the William Willett Learning Trust and belong to number of networks in Bromley and Kent.

The History department at Coopers is passionate about developing an engaging curriculum for students but felt stuck when it came to the Holocaust, students were engaged in the topic but we needed to review the activities that we used. Participating in the IOE CPD sessions gave us engaging and thought provoking activities that we quickly adapted our schemes of learning to include some of the activities.

Our students have participated in the current research on Holocaust Education and it was suggested that we look at the Beacon School Programme. We were ecstatic to be chosen to be one of the Beacon Schools for 2014-2015 and look forward to developing Holocaust teaching across the school and within our network of schools following further work with the IOE.
