Colchester County High School for Girls is a selective state grammar school. We have been working with IOE’s Centre for Holocaust Education since July 2013, as part of their Beacon School Programme.

Having previously participated in the Centre’s CPD programme, teaching about the Holocaust has been significantly reformed in our school, culminating a multi-disciplinary approach both in the classroom and through a cross-curricular Holocaust Education day for Year 9.

The next step in our progression is to use Beacon School status to embed the latest thinking in Holocaust education both within our own school and in a network of local schools.
