The Centre for Holocaust Education and colleagues from the Holocaust Educational Trust were delighted to host this special event on Tuesday 18th March, here at the IOE.

We were privileged to be joined by Rex Bloomstein, documentary maker, who reflected on the Holocaust related films made during his career. These include: The Longest Hatred, Auschwitz and the Allies, Liberation, and KZ. Made in 2005, KZ – the German initials for concentration camp – was a study of life in the picturesque Austrian town of Mauthausen, which was the site of the largest concentration camp in the country. It now attracts thousands of tourists each year. Rex used clips from his numerous films, including KZ, to illustrate the changing perspective and styles that he has developed and conceived over this time. Everyone attending this event was given a complimentary copy of KZ to take home.
