UCL Centre for Holocaust Education mourns the passing of Elie Wiesel. Activist, author, and humanitarian.  Wiesel, an Auschwitz survivor, committed his life to education about the Holocaust.

Staff member Nicola Wetherall enjoyed a personal friendship with Elie Wiesel over many years. His tireless support & encouragement were key to the path she took in Holocaust and Genocide education.

A genius of a man, Wiesel’s artistic and literary power could reach to all at the deepest most profound level. His capacity for compassion and his will to bring about a better world has created an enduring legacy.
