The UCL Centre for Holocaust Education is a world class, research-informed centre of educational excellence.  It supports teachers through high quality professional development to ensure that every school student develops meaningful knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust and is able to reflect on it contemporary significance.

This position offers an exciting, high level opportunity to develop the work of the Centre and to make a significant contribution to Holocaust education and related fields, nationally and internationally.

The post is available from 1 December 2018 and is funded until 31 March 2020 in the first instance.

The successful candidate will: have experience of effectively managing and leading educational teams to effect positive educational change and improvement; a proven track record of effective teaching in Holocaust education or related areas; and hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching or equivalent, along with an MA and/or PhD in a relevant field.

• The successful candidate should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and impact a range of external audiences.
• Ideally, the post holder will have experience of fund raising, funder engagement and income generating activities and be nationally recognised as a leading individual in the field of Holocaust education.
• The post holder will lead and provide strategic direction for the Centre’s educational offer ensuring that is innovative, high quality, research informed and responsive to the needs of schools and the education community.
• The post will also include building partnerships with schools and school networks to ensure the work of the Centre has a significant and positive impact on teaching and learning across the country.
