We are excited to announce that, in recognition of its “world leading contribution to the policy and practice of education and innovative social research”, the IOE has been awarded a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education. We are delighted that the work of the Centre contributed to the Institute’s bid for the prize.

The Prizes are a biennial award scheme within the UK’s honours system.  They are the most prestigious form of national recognition open to a UK academic or vocational institution. The IOE’s award recognises our distinctiveness among schools of education and the entirety of our work – our teacher education, our research on pedagogy, our innovation in social research, our contribution to education in developing countries, our doctoral training, our library and archive, and, across it all, our close engagement with policy and practitioner communities.  It recognises our standing among a very small number of leading educational research and teaching institutions world-wide and the part we play in promoting the UK’s contribution to education internationally.
